#433 - PSALM 7:12-17

If he does not relent, he will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. He has prepared his deadly weapons; he makes ready his flaming arrows. Whoever is pregnant with evil conceives trouble and gives birth to disillusionment. Whoever digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit they have made. The trouble they cause recoils on them; their violence comes down on their own heads. I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the LORD Most High.
PSALM 7:12-17

ADORE

"I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness..." I praise you Lord for your holiness. I praise you Lord for your purity. I praise your Lord for your perfection. You have a perfect will. You have a perfect way. You have a perfect love. Everything about your character is blameless! I am so thankful that I serve a God who can do no wrong! It is because of your righteousness that I can trust you to do good in every situation. Regardless of the chaos around me both in my personal life and in the world, I trust that you are in control. I trust that you have a plan. I trust that you will ultimately work everything out for my good and for your glory. But this is not a blind trust. This is not a naive trust. This is a trust rooted in your righteousness!

 ADMIT

"Whoever digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit they have made." I am all too familiar with this truth! I confess that I've dug a hole of debt and fell into it. I've dug a hole of irresponsibility and fell into it. I've dug a hole of inconsistency and fell into it. I've dug a hole of ignorance and fell into it. I have done stupid, selfish things that have not only caused me trouble, but they have also caused you pain, and for that I desire your forgiveness.

ASPIRE

"The trouble they cause recoils on them; their violence comes down on their own heads." Lord, I desire to have a church that can become a safe place for people who are suffering the consequences of their sin. I envision a hospital for suffering sinners. I see a church that welcomes people who are in pain because of the pain that they have caused others. I see a church that is sensitive to those who have gotten themselves into trouble because we are so aware of the many times that we have gotten ourselves into trouble. I also see our church as a place of healing and restoration for these people. I place where they can experience a "blank page" and a "fresh start!" I thank you for this reality coming to pass in advance! In Jesus name, Amen.
