#670 - THREE OF MY HEROMAKERS
Today I had the opportunity to hear Dave Ferguson talk about his new book Heromaker. The above pic describes the five practices of a "heromaker" outlined in his book.
I am blessed to have had three heromakers. Specifically as it relates to my journey of becoming a pastor and church planter.
Brian Cassidy. Brian Goodell. Paul McGovern.
These were three pastors that had "multiplication thinking," "permission giving," "disciple multiplying," "gift activating,", and "kingdom building" mindsets that led to them speaking into my life, affirming my gifts, and giving me opportunities to lead and minister in the local church way before I was ready or qualified.
I would not be the pastor or leader that I am today without their contribution in my life. I would not have had the audacity to even believe I could do ministry vocationally without them. I am so thankful.
Thank you for allowing me to stand on the platforms you built. Thank you for allowing me to minister to the people you were accountable for shepherding. Thank you for mentoring me and giving me feedback when there were many other things you could have been doing.
THANK YOU FOR INVESTING YOUR LIFE INTO MINE.
Thank you for trusting God. Thank you for entrusting me.
I have invested the last 8 years of my life preaching the gospel, making disciples, and glorifying God through the local church, vocationally, in large part, because you believed I could. Thank you.
My commitment to you is to invest my life making a "hero" of others like you guys were committed to making a "hero" out of me!
To God be the glory!
